MUDr. Petra Paveleková, PhD.

MUDr. Petra Paveleková, PhD. is a neurologist with a distinguished professional, clinical, and scientific background. She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Comenius University in Bratislava in 2013. She obtained her specialization in neurology in 2019.

After completing her studies, she worked at the neurology department in Trnava, then as a research assistant at the Neurology Clinic in Košice, as well as in private neurology outpatient clinics in Košice and Trnava.

In 2023, she earned her PhD. at the Faculty of Medicine of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, where her scientific work focused on the diagnostics of rare extrapyramidal disorders.

During her time in Košice, she focused clinically and scientifically primarily on:

• movement disorders,
• Parkinson's disease,
• rare extrapyramidal disorders,
• modern treatment methods (DBS, infusion pump systems).

She has experience with deep brain stimulation, infusion pump systems, and modern therapeutic procedures used in specialized centers.

She is the author or co-author of approximately 25 professional publications, predominantly in international peer-reviewed journals, including the prestigious Lancet Neurology. She is also the co-author of the book Selected Chapters from Special Neurology (2023).

In her clinical practice, she actively performs EMG examinations. In the field of electrophysiological diagnostics, she has published professional papers in international journals.

She participated in the work of the expert team of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic in developing standard procedures for screening rare genetically determined extrapyramidal disorders and is a member of an international expert group for their diagnosis and treatment.

During her studies and practice, she completed international internships at neurology clinics in Taiwan, Germany, and Israel. She regularly presents her professional experience through lectures at domestic and international congresses.
